The 52 cards of destiny are the ordinary playing-card deck, read as a calendar of human life. Each card lines up with a week of the year and with specific birthdays, and each has its own personality. Your birthday points to one of them: your Birth Card.
Why 52 cards?
| The deck | The calendar |
|---|---|
| 52 cards | 52 weeks |
| 4 suits | 4 seasons |
| 13 cards per suit | 13 weeks per season, 13 lunar cycles a year |
| All card values added up (364), plus the Joker | 365 days |
The four suits
- ♥ Hearts: love, family, feelings
- ♣ Clubs: ideas, words, learning
- ♦ Diamonds: money, values, self-worth
- ♠ Spades: work, health, wisdom, change
The ranks
- Ace to 10: stages of growth, from a new start (Ace) to fullness (10)
- Jack, Queen, King: maturity. The Jack is young and clever, the Queen nurtures, the King leads.
- Joker: the wildcard, for December 31 birthdays
A card's meaning is its suit plus its rank. The 4♥ is about building a safe, loving home; the King♠ is about mastery earned through hard work. (Destiny Cards Meanings →)
