Cardology is a system that reads your personality and life path from an ordinary 52-card deck. Your birthday maps to a Birth Card, and cardology calculates two more cards from it, so you get a three-card portrait instead of a single sign. It's also called Destiny Cards. It runs on math, not intuition: nothing is drawn or guessed.
How it works
The deck lines up with the calendar:
- 52 cards → 52 weeks
- 4 suits → 4 seasons
- 13 cards per suit → 13 lunar cycles
- All card values added up → 364, plus the Joker → 365 days
That's why every birthday lands on one specific card.
Your three cards
| Card | What it shows | How it's found |
|---|---|---|
| Inner Child | Your core nature | Your birth date |
| Chosen Purpose | Where your life is headed | Card 1, shifted by your zodiac sign's ruling planet |
| Highest Self | Who you're growing into | Cards 1 and 2 combined |
A card's meaning comes from its suit (♥ love, ♣ mind, ♦ values, ♠ work and growth) and its rank, from the fresh start of an Ace to the mastery of a King. Cardology also gives you two karma cards and a card for every day.

Where it comes from
Reading playing cards this way is an old folk tradition, often called playing card astrology. In the modern era, author Robert Lee Camp organized it into the Destiny Cards system most people use today.
Cardology FAQ
Is cardology the same as tarot?
No. Tarot draws from a 78-card deck and is interpreted in the moment. Cardology uses the standard 52-card deck, and your cards are calculated from your birthday.
Does cardology use astrology?
Yes, in one step: your zodiac sign's ruling planet shapes your second card. Cardology builds on your sign instead of replacing it. (Cardology vs Astrology →)
Do I need my birth time?
No. Cardology only needs your birth date.
